Renowned actress from the Bollywood industry, Sonam Kapoor is celebrating her birthday today. It was in 2007 that she made her debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Saawariya’. Since then, she starred in multiple films like Delhi-6, Aisha, Mausam, Raanjhanaa, and so on.

1. Initially, Sonam Kapoor’s interest never lied towards acting. She was aspiring to get into behind-the-scenes work like direction and writing. As a result, she assisted visionary director Sanjay Leela Bhansali while he was filming ‘Black’. During this time, the director revealed that he wants to cast her as his next heroine and her priorities changed and she made her debut with Saawariya.
2. The actress had become financially independent from the mere age of 15! In an interview, she has revealed that when she was in Singapore for studies, she took up a job as a waitress as she was getting a limited allowance from her family.
3. Sonam Kapoor is trained in multiple dance forms like Kathak, Latin dance and also knows classical music.
4. She is a polyglot and can speak Hindi, Sindhi, Punjabi, and English.
5. Sonam is the only actress from the Indian film industry to have featured as the cover girl of the international lifestyle magazine ‘Prestige’.
