The film is a retelling of the ‘Batla House Encounter Case’ that happened in the year 2008. John played the role of a cop named Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, who played a very important role in the entire encounter.

3. Shootout at Wadala (2013)

John Abraham played the role of a notorious gangster named Manya Surve in this Sanjay Gupta directorial. The film was inspired by the first-ever registered encounter by the police of Mumbai in the year 1982.

4. New York (2009)

Directed by Kabir Khan, New York was a story of three close friends and how their life changed after the incident of 9/11 in the United States. This was the film that shed light in his acting range for which he gained immense recognition.

5. Madras Cafe (2013)

This film is considered to be one of the best political thrillers yet. The actor was seen in this film as a RAW officer. The film was based on the Sri Lankan civil war in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s.
