This beautiful and highly underrated gem by Ritoparno Ghosh is a story of two estranged lovers who come across one another years later. It is based on the famous short story by O Henry called The Gift of the Magi. She definitely hit the mark in this tailor-made role with incredible conviction. This brave performance was highly appreciated.

5. Lalita Bakshi (Bride & Prejudice)

Aishwarya debuted into Hollywood through this mesmerising role as Lalita Bakshi in this movie which was based on Jane Austen’s classic ‘Pride and Prejudice’. She was extremely stellar and confident in this role. No one could have portrayed better than her. She played a modern Indian girl who rejects the notion of arranged marriages. People definitely loved this merger of Bollywood meets Hollywood.

As per some updates, Aishwarya Rai will be seen playing a dual role in the film. The rest of the cast of the film includes Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Shobhita Dhulipala, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Trisa and so on. She will also be seen as the main antagonist in this two-part film. This Tamil language historical drama’s production was put on hold owing to COVID-19.

On the occasion, her actor husband Abhishek Bachchan posted a delightful wish for the actress on his social media. He wrote on his post, “Happy birthday Wifey.
