The actress has been revolutionary in the Bollywood industry by giving rise to successful female centric films. It has indeed been a groundbreaking development.
It was in the year 1995 Vidya gained prominence from the cult classic comedy sitcom ‘Hum Paanch’. She debuted in the Bollywood industry with Parineeta and further starred in films like Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Guru, Heyy Babyy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Kismat Konnection, Paa and so on.
However, it was from films like No One Killed Jessica, The Dirty Picture, the Kahaani franchise and Tumhari Sulu that she proved to the world that women protagonists have a necessary role to play and emerge in this male dominated society.
