Actress Vidya Balan attended a promotional event for her upcoming film ‘Tumhari Sulu’ on Thursday in Mumbai where she interacted Ola cab and auto-rickshaws women drivers about their professional and personal life experiences. While interacting on a panel, Vidya stated that Tumhari Sulu is all about of self discovery of a woman.

Talking about ‘Tumhari Sulu’ , Vidya said, “Sulu (Sulochana) is someone who represents modern Indian women who wants to explore the world and she wants discover herself through that and that’s why she transforms herself from a normal housewife to late night RJ (Radio Jockey). It is the journey of self discovery that ”Tumhari Sulu’ is all about but she is happy go lucky and spirited woman character that I have ever played and I am really glad to be meeting equally spirited women this afternoon”

When asked Vidya what she wants to say to Indian females who confidently wants to take on the world, She said, “I feel when you decide to do something then you just have to believe in yourself then I feel nothing is impossible in your life. we (females) give birth to a child so I feel there is nothing greater than that in this world”

“Each individual has different qualities and strengths in them , you just have to recognise that and work in that direction then I feel we can make place for our self in society”

“In today’s world it has became important for a couple to earn together to run a family but it is also important to equally contribute in household work so you need your family and husband’s support in that process”

When asked Vidya how her husband producer Sidharth Roy Kapur supports her in her professional career, “She said, “It’s really great thing that your family supports such working women in their professional like. My husband also supports me everything if sometimes I feel scared of something while accepting challenges that time he pushes me do things”

When asked Vidya how she balances her professional and personal life, she said, “I feel these women work really hard on their job and home but when I shoot for a film that time I totally surrender myself in that film because that I live someone else’s life but I am really fortunate that I have my staff to look after my home and my husband also believe that home is only territory so he supports me in managing home”

‘Tumhari Sulu’ is an Indian comedy-drama film in which Balan (Sulochana a.k.a. Sulu) essays the role of a night radio jockey in Mumbai. The film stars Manav Kaul as Vidya Balan’s husband, Neha Dhupia as Vidya’s Boss, and renowned RJ, Malishka, as Albeli Anjali.

‘Tumhari Sulu’ is directed by Suresh Triveni and produced by Atul Kasbekar, T-Series and Ellipsis Entertainment.

It is scheduled to release on 17 November.
