Akira Actress Sonakshi Sinha has urged her fans and followers to clean up the beaches here in Mumbai.

Sonakshi took to Twitter, where she shared a poster of the event, which read: “Join the citizens…Gandhi Statue, Juhu beach, September 6.”

The “Dabangg” actress tweeted: “Hope there comes a day when we don’t mess it up to begin with! Come on guys, join in to Free the beach!”

This is not the first time a Bollywood personality has campaigned for the beach clean-up. Earlier Amitabh Bachchan and Randeep Hooda also took part in Beach-cleanup initiative. Just Last month, actress Dia Mirza, along with her producer-husband Sahil Sangha, was seen as part of the initiative.

On the acting front, Sonakshi will soon be seen in the thriller film “Ittefaq”, directed by Abhay Chopra. The film is an adaptation of the 1969 film by the same name.

The film will star Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha in lead roles. The movie also stars Akshaye Khanna, Parul Gulati, Shankar Yadav, Mir Sarwar and Gireesh Sahedev in supporting roles.

The original “Ittefaq” had been directed by Yash Chopra, and was his first film with Rajesh Khanna. The film is a murder-mystery, which was adaptation of a 1965 film named “Signpost to Murder”. It is also been reported that rebooted Ittefaq will be tweaked version of older movie.

Sidharth Malhotra is currently busy shooting for “Aiyaary” which is a crime drama film based on a real life incident directed by Neeraj Pandey. It will star Manoj Bajpayee.
