Chandro Tomar also known as the ‘Shooter Dadi’ was world’s oldest sharpshooter. She lost her life battling the coronavirus. She took her last breath in Meerut and was aged 89. A biopic was also made on her and her sister Prakashi Tomar’s life titled ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ where actresses Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu played lead roles.

On the demise of Shooter Daani, both Bhumi and Taapsee took to their social media handles to reminise the moments they shared with her. Bhumi was the one who potrayed her on screen and took to her social media to reveal that she is heartbroken by the news. Her post on Instagram said, “Truly feels like a part of me has gone. A part of family has gone. She lived a life full of greatness and impacted so many lives. Questioned patriarchy and broke every shackle of ageism. Her legacy will live on in all those girls whom she became a role model for.” She concluded by saying that she feels honoured to potray her life on screen.
