The shooting for celebrated badminton player Saina Nehwal’s biopic had begun in 2019. It had to be put on hold owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. Parineeti Chopra will be seen playing the role of Saina in it. Along with shooting the film, she was also preparing for her role by practising the sport and maintaining her physique side by side. Although there has been no update regarding the film since the pandemic, Saina took to her Instagram to share a glimpse of how Parineeti will look in the film.
She shared a picture in which the actress was sporting short hair. It probably must be from a sequence that was shot to depict an earlier stage of her life. The news about the film being made was announced by Nehwal through her social media account in the year 2017. The filming began in 2019 and was halted owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially meant for an early 2020 release, the launch has been postponed. ‘Saina’ is being directed by Amol Gupte.
