Richa Chaddha, Kalki Koechlin, and Arslan Goni were present at the trailer launch of ‘Jia Aur Jia’ on Wednesday during media interaction Kalki said, Jia is a completely different from her character in ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’

When asked if Kalki’s character in ‘Jia Aur Jia’ is similar to her character in ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, she said, “I think they are very different; it’s like asking two people how different they are. Even twins have a different personality. Of course, there are some similarities, like they love life and they want to live for the moment. It’s the subtitles of each character that make it unique and Jia is a completely different from my character in ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’.”

Kalki one of the lead’s while talking about the film and her character said, “There are many themes to the film, and comedy is one of them. It talks about depression and also how you can live your life and enjoy it. How to search for that happiness in your life. My character is Jia Agarwal and she is a Punjabi girl who is very loud and crazy. She does things which aren’t normal or accepted by the society. But most importantly she lives in the moment and she loves to enjoy her life.

The film ‘Jia Aur Jia’ is about discovering you on a journey, Richa was asked if she has had such experience in real life, she said “I have taken many trips sometimes solo, sometimes by default while shooting. So sometimes after the shoot, I used to go for a walk or run and we would all catch-up in the night and do illegal things (laughs). So even when you are traveling it gives you the opportunity to absorb the place. I think traveling is a great way to learn about yourself and to learn about new cultures. It also helps in opening the horizons of your mind.

The trailer starts off with an uptight banker character of Richa Chadha called Jia meeting Kalki Koechlin’s Jia, that has a go-with-the-flow kind of personality. The film looks like a fresh breath of air, with an all-female lead going on a trip across Sweden for self-discovery, facing new adventures and challenges.

Richa and Kalki both play Jia in the film and in real life too both share a great rapport with each other.
