There is no doubt that Huma Qureshi is a powerhouse performer and for her big Hollywood debut , took on the massive challenge of not only getting under the skin of her character but also closely studying the lady , who her character in Viceroy’s House is loosely based on.
Before shooting the film, Huma flew to London to meet Jaya Thadani ,who was actually an interpreter during the British rule .Gurinder Chadha organized this meeting so that Huma could relate to her character and Huma and Jaya continue to stay in touch to date.
Hence it was only natural that the actress wanted Jaya to be one of the first to watch the big canvas film and will soon be organizing a special screening of Viceroy’s House for her in London.

Also Huma’s Viceroy’s House is an official selection at Berlinale 2017 and will have its worldwide premiere at the festival. Huma will join Gurinder and rest of the cast of Viceroy’s House in Berlin ,immediately after wrapping up promotions of her upcoming film Jolly LLB 2.
