Today marks 13 years of Om Shanti Om and also the smashing debut of Deepika Padukone as she set foot in the industry with this Farah Khan directorial. In order to mark this special day, the actress changed her icon on social media handles and her name too to ‘Shantipriya’, the character in her film. After her smashing debut opposite to Shah Rukh Khan, it opened windows of opportunities for her which eventually led her to become one of the biggest actresses in Bollywood.
Deepika starred in this love story about two estranged lovers who meet again after being reincarnated only to seek revenge and set things right in their new life. She was merely 20 years old when she made her debut with Om Shanti Om! People loved this film and referred to it as ‘entertainment at it’s best’. Some iconic dialogues from the film like ‘picture abhi baaki hai mere dost’, and ‘ek chutki sindoor’ also got widely popularized.
