Aishwarya Rai supports Smile foundation to celebrate her father’s birthdays as ‘Day of Smiles’

After celebrating the 6th birthday of her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan decided to take a big measure on a personally special occasion, that is the birthday of her late father, Krishnaraj Rai. Aishwarya decided to sponsor the treatment of 100 kids who were born with cleft lips and palates, a condition her father was born with as well. And so, along with Aaradhya, she visited the SMILE foundation, to meet and greet the children on Monday in Mumbai.

Talking about the initiative Aishwarya said, “We together with ‘Smile Train’ are looking to transform the lives of so many people and children of our community and world. The work done by this orgnisation is exemplary. I have been working them through my foundation for couple of years now. I am very grateful for the association because I know we are doing what should be done”

“Today honoring the memory of my father, Mr. Krishnarai Rai loved the children and he believed that all children must have good life with good health and good education. ‘Smile Train’ graciously declared today his birthday as ‘Day of Smiles'”

“W as family are very humble and thankful for this kind of generosity . This day is obviously has been always special personally but declaring it as ‘Day of Smiles’ , they are giving us reason to smile and recognized us that we can spread the smile beyond and nothing would please us more than to able to give so many children the reason to smile and to lead healthy, happy and fulfilled life”

“I also want to congratulate all doctors for conducting surgeries and helping us in this cause. I feel we can contribute together and we can together raise the funds. I feel it’s very easy blessing to give and the fulfillment people will get this will be immense”

The 44-year-old, upon visiting and meeting the children she’s sponsoring at the SMILE foundation, cut a cake in her father’s memory. But being the star she is, shutterbugs are bound to follow. And this time around Ash wasn’t too pleased to greet them. The actress, overwhelmed from the paparazzi clicking away, got irritated by the chaos, and surprisingly enough reached a point of tears, incessantly asking the paps to stop clicking the pictures, reminding them this is not one of those events. ”

“Agitated at their behaviour, a teary-eyed Aishwarya pleaded to the cameramen saying, “Please stop it. You guys don’t know the work. This is not a premiere. This is not another public event. Please show some respect guys. What’s wrong with you all?”

Aishwarya Rai next will be seen in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra produced ‘Fanney Khan’ along with Anil Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Divya Dutta.
