2 years of ‘Manto’: Rasika Dugal shares some BTS shots from the sets

Critically acclaimed film Manto with Nawazuddin Siddiqui completed 2 years since it’s release recently. His co-star from the film, Rashika Dugal who essayed an important role within it got nostalgic and shared some behind the scenes shots from the film with Nawazuddin and the director Nandita Das.

She also shared some pictures with the family of real-life Mantos on her post. Her caption said, “Memories of a beautiful evening spent with the reel Mantos and the real Mantos ? on the eve of the release of #mantothefilm two years ago. Thank you @nanditadasofficial for making all of this happen.”

While explaining the second pic in her series, Rasika mentioned, “Reel Safia and Nusrat Jalal ( Manto and Safias youngest daughter) in deep conversation….as if to catch up on the many years in between. Remembering Shahid Jalal ?.”

‘Manto’ was a biopic of the Urdu writer Saadat Hasan Manto. The film beautifully depicted his life around the era of pre and post-independence of India and also the partition time with reference to 5 of his most important and touching short stories.
