The entire industry was in shock when thew news about Sanjay Dutt getting diagnosed with lung cancer emerged. However, his wife Maanayata Dutt recently released a statement thanking all the fans and supporters for all the heartfelt wishes for Sanjay.

Her statement said, “I thank everyone who has expressed their well wishes for Sanju’s speedy recovery. We need all the strength and prayers to overcome this phase. There is a lot that the family has gone through in the past years but I am confident, this too shall pass. However, it is my heartfelt request to Sanju’s fans to not fall prey to speculations and unwarranted rumours but to just help us with their ongoing love, warmth and support. Sanju has always been a fighter, and so has our family. God has yet again chosen to test us to overcome the challenges ahead. All we seek is your prayers and blessings, and we know we will emerge as winners on the other side, as we always have. Let us use this opportunity to spread light and positivity.”

It had only been a day since superstar Sanjay Dutt got discharged from the hospital in Mumbai. He took to his social media to announce that he is taking a temporary leave from work owing to some health concerns.

His post said, “Hi friends, I am taking a short break from work for some medical treatment. My family and friends are with me and I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate.” While signing off his note, Sanjay Dutt promised: “With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon.”

It was on 8 August that the actor was hospitalised as he complained about shortness of breath. He luckily tested negative for coronavirus. He returned home on 10 August, after being kept under observation in the hospital for 2 days. He was quick to update his well-wishers about this update.

On the work front, Sanjay was last seen in ‘Panipat’, which was directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. He will soon be seen in Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Sadak 2’ with Alia Bharr, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Pooja Bhatt.
