Prateik Babbar, Bengali theatre

Prateik Babbar, who made his theatre debut with Six two months ago, is all set to take his passion for the live drama to the next level.

The talented actor, who starred in Saurav Chakraborty’s Bengali socio-political drama, Auroni Taukhon, two years ago, will now foray into Bengali theatre.

Prateik says, “The encouraging response that I received for my play has given me the confidence to explore the medium further. Since I have done a Bengali film earlier, I am familiar with the language.”

Prateik, who essayed the role of a gay character in Jeff Goldberg’s Six, the Indian adaptation of LB Hamilton’s one-act play, A Midnight Clear, received several accolades for his performance.

Talking about his birthday plans, the actor says, “If it’s not a working birthday, I celebrate in the company of close friends by going out for a meal. This time around, I will spend the day with my 92-year-old grandfather and my family.”
