Paresh Rawal, the new chairperson of National School of Drama

Versatile Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal has been appointed as the new Chairperson of National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi. The major major announcement was made by Prahlad Singh Patel, the Minister of Culture through a post on Twitter.

In his twitter post, he said, “Eminent thespian Paresh Rawal has been assigned the position of the Chairman at the National School of Drama by Rashtrapati Bhavan. I am delighted that student and artists will be able to benefit from his talent. Hearty congratulations.”

Prior to this, the chairperson for NSD post had been vacant since 2017.

The actor after the announcement mentioned that though this new responsibility appears challenging it will also be fun. He shall do his best as he is experienced in the field.

The official twitter handle of National School of Drama also tweeted regarding this honour. The organisation mentioned that the recent development will help it reaching new heights.

On the cinematic front, the actor will soon seen in films like Coolie No. 1, Hungama 2, Toofan and so on. The shoot/release of these films has been delayed due to the social distancing norms amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
