Panchayat actor Shashie Vermaa opens up on his role

Directed by Santosh Upadhyay, written by Kamlesh K Mishra and produced by Ranjana Upadhyay of Nakshatra 27 Productions, it also features Nitanshi Goel, Ekavali Khanna, Shishir Sharma, Madhu Sachdeva, Rohit Tiwari, Brinda Trivedi, Ramji Bali and others. Actor Shashie Vermaa will be now seen in film Masoom Sawaal which is touted to be based on the stigma around menstruation.Directed by Santosh Upadhyay, written by Kamlesh K Mishra and produced by Ranjana Upadhyay of Nakshatra 27 Productions, it also features Nitanshi Goel, Ekavali Khanna, Shishir Sharma, Madhu Sachdeva, Rohit Tiwari, Brinda Trivedi, Ramji Bali and others. The film is slated to release in cinemas on August 5.

Talking about his role Shashie Vermaa says,”In this film, I have played the character of Pandit Ramdutt, a learned scholar who has masterered the puranas,vedas, and karmakand. I’m succeeding the legacy of my forefathers.They all were very known scholars of all the vidyas. The character is the flag bearer of the pauranic knowledge and karmakand.”

Shredding light on the taboo and misconception this film deals with he states,”This is a myth, an extremely common misconception that period blood is dirty or impure. However, what most people fail to understand is that the menstrual cycle is part of a woman’s and life existence on earth. It’s nowhere written that women should not touch or worship during these days and it’s a taboo that has been practicing by society for long. How the almighty the creater would deny or discriminate and asked not to worship them.”

He continues,”Earlier, it might have an idea of not doing household chores just because of the hygiene concern and during that time a women’s body going through lot of pain and changes, they were asked to take rest to heal their body. Women who are reason of birth to bravery has been mocked, it’s us who extended that to this limit and made it a taboo.”

Sharing about why this topic is the need of the hour he tells, “I’m very greatful and overwhelmed that the director Santosh Upadhyay and writer Kamlesh K Mishra has made a film on such topic which is least discussed on public platform. The subject is the need of the hour. It’s a question that entire women population want to ask but their voices have been ignored. Lets debate on this and make it normal – “Wo din chal rhe hai”, Why so suspense ? It’s as natural as we do our daily routine. We people need to change the mindset and make the world a safer and better place for women.”
