Tigmanshu Dhulia’s highly-anticipated war drama, Raag Desh featuring Mohit Marwah, Amit Sadh and Kunaal Kapoor released this Friday.
The talented Mohit Marwah blessed with a rich baritone has delivered a stupendous performance in the movie based on the Red Fort Trial of three officers of the Indian National Army – Prem Kumar Sahgal (Mohit), Shah Nawaz Khan (Kunal Kapoor) and Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon (Amit Sadh).
Besides the industry, trade and audiences alike have been all praise for Mohit as he took on the role of the feisty Lt. Prem Kumar Sahgal with great aplomb, the daughter of the late army officer Subhasini Sahgal has also given thumbs up to the actor’s performance.
The film which was screened at the Rashtrapati Bhavan recently was attended by descendants of the Sahgal family, former president Pranab Mukerji and several other politicians. Subhasini Ali (filmmaker Muzaffar Ali’s former wife), a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and President of the All India Democratic Women’s Association, attended the screening.
Subhasini was so overwhelmed that she embraced Mohit, and said his performance and portrayal of her father was outstanding.
Mohit, who took off to Jaisalmer for a promotional interaction with BSF jawans after the screening, recalls the moment and says, “It was the first sign of approval I received as an actor. This memory will stay with me forever.”
