Icon from the Bollywood industry, Amitabh Bachchan was seen participating in the international event titled ‘Global Citizen’s VAX LIVE: The Concert To Reunite The World concert’. The goal of the programme was to make people aware of the importance to take the COVID vaccine, urge big businesses to donate funds for doses and for the govt. to share excess doses immediately. It also focussed on pharmaceutical companies like Moderna to make the vaccine available at non-profit prices.
Amitabh Bachchan appealed to the international audience from India and talked about how important vaccines are. He said in his video, “Namaskar, this is Amitabh Bachchan. My country India is battling with the sudden surge of the second wave of COVID-19. As a global citizen, I appeal to all global citizens to rise up, speak to your governments, pharmaceutical companies and ask them to donate, to give, to extend a helping hand, to the public that needs it the most. Every effort counts. As Mahatma Gandhiji said: ‘In a gentle way you can shake the world’. Thank you.” Prince Harry was seen introducing him.

Pop sensation Selena Gomez hosted the event and other noted celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters, J Balvin, & H.E.R., also performed at the event. Whereas Prince Harry and Meghan, US President and Vice President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, President Emmanuel Macron of France, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada, and Prime Minister Plenković of Croatia also featured.
