Abhishek Bachchan talks about his OTT debut with ‘Breathe: Into The Shadows’

The year 2020 marks Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan’s 20 years in the Bollywood film industry. This year is extremely special for the actor because other than completing 2 decades in the industry, he will also be taking the digital space by a storm through his debut in the upcoming show ‘Breathe: Into The Shadows’ airing on the streaming giant Amazon Prime.

In a recent interview junior Bachchan opened up about the role he will be seen playing, the difference in working for a digital show compared to a film, the and so on.

Abhishek will be seen as Dr Avinash Shabharwal in the upcoming show, a dotting father whose daughter has been kidnapped and hence been taken away from him. When asked if the filming of the series took an emotional toll on him, considering its dark genre, the actor said that his work has been very close to his heart and has consumed him. He also finds it difficult sometimes to switch between real and reel life and can be quite challenging at times. The actor revealed that the theme of the show talks about how far can one go in order to save their family.

Bachchan also talked about the transition in the film industry taking place with changing times and the emergence of OTT platforms for people to consume films and shows. He said that cinema and OTT are two separate fields which need different approaches. Catering to the audience’s choice also changes in both these platforms. He also mentioned that he is aware of the stereotype that web series contains lots of nudity and foul language, but his show breathe is something which can be enjoyed with families if the kids are under parental guidance.
