Mumbai: Producer Aanand Mahendroo of Dekh Bhai Dekh fame, through his 60-year old family charity Mahindru Foundation, organized a Special Screening and Gala Musical Concert of the much awaited Rang Rasiya in Delhi NCR.Shatrughan Sinhagraced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the entire cast & crew of Rang RasiyaRandeepHooda, Nandana Sen, Ketan Mehta, Aanand Mahendroo, DeepaSahi, Sunidhi Chauhan, KailashKher, Rajeshwari Pathak, SandeshShandilya, attended the grand event.

The event was attended by the Who’s Who of NCR, including personalities from entertainment, corporate world, the legal fraternity and socialites.

Moved by the cause, Shatrughan Sinhasaid,‘’I have known Aanand for many years and I know about his family’s devotion to the eye donation initiatives. All the members of my family have pledged their eyes. I am proud of my daughter Sonakshi for promoting Mahindru Foundation’s eye donation cause. There is an urgent need to raise awareness on this issue.’’

Mahindru Foundation’s Managing Trustee Ashok Mahindru made the audience aware about the alarming picture, saying ‘’The cause of the blind is a very moving one.1 crore 80 lakh people are blind in India. 80 percent of the blind population can be cured but the tragedy is that yearly donation is only 35000.’’ He unveiled Mahindru Foundation’s commitment of setting up 100 Eye Banks across India to eradicate curable blindness completely.

The entire star cast of Rang Rasiya appeared blindfolded to feel the helplessness of blind people.

RandeepHooda appealed to all to come forward for this noble cause. He added,‘’I being from Haryana, am appalled to know that it has the maximum number of blinds and the lowest rate of donations.I am for the cause and appeal to all to pledge their eyes to make India blind-free.’’

Nandana Sen spoke eloquently narrating her personal trauma when her mother had gone partially blind, ‘’If someone did not donate their eyes, my mother would not have been able to see today ?’’

The Special screening witnessed Sunidhi Chauhan, KailashKher, Rajashree Pathak, Sandesh Shandilya along with Star cast of the Film Rang Rasiya. Rajasthan folk singers regaled the audience till late in the night at a gala dinner in five star hotel.
