Mumbai: Former ‘X Factor’ host Dermot O’Leary is heading to Hollywood to live out his dream of working in the US.

The 41-year-old presenter, who recently quit his job as the host of ‘The X Factor’ after eight years, is currently looking for an agent in the US as he embarks on a long-held ambition to present TV shows in the country.

A friend said: “He would be loved there.”

He added, “Dermot knows it is a tough market but it is something he is looking into seriously. He knows he has to get a US agent first.”

What’s more, the move would mean Dermot would see more of his wife Dee Koppang, who’s a TV producer and director who spends a lot of her time in the US.

The source told the Sunday People newspaper:”He has complained he doesn’t see enough of his wife, so it would solve that problem.

“This is his time to grab the opportunity. It’s something Dermot has always wanted to do.”

Meanwhile, ‘X Factor’ boss Simon Cowell recently expressed his admiration for Dermot and suggested they’d work together again in the future.

Reflecting on his departure, Simon said: “Dermot’s cool. However, he did a lot of years.

“I think he wanted a change. I respect that.

“He’ll always get work, he’s a very talented guy and we’ll do stuff together.”
