Mumbai: Sultry beauty Nimrat Kaur was seen in designer Shilpa Reddy’s showstopper outfit at the Lakme Fashion Week this year. Inspired by the charming hues of the ‘Moon Lit Sand’, Shilpa Reddy has created this year’s collection and so goes the name. The charming actress was a great choice to flaunt Shilpa’s design. Dainty yet strong, the perfect combination was displayed by the unconventionally beautiful Nimrat Kaur.
Her designs exuded the subtle and elegant hues of the sands, the night sky and the magical aura of the moon. Shilpa has been on her toes this season with an exciting line-up of events. Right after presenting her collection at the J Spring 2015, New York on the 19th of March, she was back to showcase a totally unique and inspiring collection at the LFW 2015. Former Mrs. India, model and socialite Shilpa Reddy was also the first Indian designer to showcase her Indo-Western collection at the J Autumn Show 2014 held on the spectacular Eiffel Tower in Paris.
What to look forward to?
The malkha and khadi silk foundation of Shilpa’s creation holds an uncanny resemblance to the exquisite shades of the sands lit up by the radiant moon. A humble yet attractive floral motif against the khadi silk base creates an illustrationary contrast. She also designed her own range of footwear for each of her outfits. Famous for her ‘understated extravagance’, Shilpa wowed the audience with this new collection. It was an absolute visual treat to witness the extraordinary array of outfits.
A mix of contemporary elegance and traditional poise makes Shilpa’s collections so special. Sophisticated cuts, clean structure, premium fabrics, impeccable fit and finish are cornerstones of her designs. Shilpa Reddy’s label hence marries cultural foundation with modern interpretation.
