Mumbai: Mumbai Film and Comics Convention organized by Comic Con India received accolades from participants and fans from across all age groups. The 3 day fest took place at Bombay Exhibition Centre from December 19-21’ 2014. Mumbai Film & Comic Con 2014 hosted interactive and experiential 50 Hours of Programming through panels, launches, gaming, video hangouts and more.

Some of the best International Authors and Artists came especially for this 3 day convention.Nick Spencer, a New York Times-bestselling comics writer, best known for his creator-owned hits Morning Glories, Bedlam, and The Infinite Vacation, as well as his work at Marvel and DC Comics on Superior Foes Of Spider-man, Avengers World, Secret Avengers, Cloak & Dagger, Thunder Agents, and Jimmy Olsen; Nicolas Wild, a wandering French writer and illustrator, He is the author of the critically acclaimed titles, Kabul Disco, Kabul Disco: How I Wasn’t Kidnapped in Afghanistan, Kabul Disco: How I Did Not Become an Opium Addict in Afghanistan ; Dan Goldman, A writer for graphic novels and video games, draws comics and editorial illustrations, and crafts transmedia experiences for such companies as AMC Television, Wired, Random House, IDW Publishing, Time Magazine, etc; were seen attending and taking special sessions at Mumbai Film & Comic Con.

For the first time ever Comic Con India brought in an International Actor as a Special Guest. Mark Gatiss, Actor, Co-Creator and Executive Producer, Sherlock (BBC) attended Mumbai Film and Comic Con 2014. Mark was a part of a Special Panel and took a Special Fan Session on Sherlock. He did Signings (Autograph Sessions) for his fans at the convention. Screening of Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special – An Adventure In Space & Time also took place as a special treat for fans.

Also, the one and only, Steven Moffat had an exclusive live chat (via skype) with the fans. Steven is the Co-Creator Of Sherlock, Show Runner For Doctor Who, Co-Writer Of The Adventures of Tintin As Well As Many More Notable Projects!

Fans who come dressed as their favorite comics characters always steal the show. And this year as always, COSPLAYERS won tons of prizes under these 5 categories created to increase one’s chances of winning gifts. Each day, one winner was chosen from each of five categories:

With just around a year left for Star Wars: Episode VII (Releasing in December 2015); One of the major highlights of the event was the Star Wars Experiential Zone. It was one of its kind experience zone created to enthrall the fan boys. The Star Wars zone was designed to resemble the bridge of a star destroyer with snazzy and futuristic display, equipped with Star Wars weapons, character figurines and inspired art. Padawans could feel the Force with the iconic lightsabers and fans seemed really happy and excited getting themselves clicked as the experience was like never before! Star Wars enthusiasts also won limited edition collectible posters of Star Wars and Marvel.

Super Heroes were in town at Mumbai Film and Comic Con. Marvel’s Super Heroes made an appearance at the three day event as The Hulk, Ironman, Thor and Captain America figurines were placed at the venue for special photo-opps. Also, fans got limited edition posters of Marvel!

The three day fest held some awesome sessions for the movie buffs. There was a Special Session with Filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee on his upcoming film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy. An Exclusive Session on Baahubali featuring Actor Rana Daggubati took place at the event, where he released the teaser of the movie. Inderjit Films previewed their upcoming film “Yahaan Sabki Lagti Hai” at the convention. MFCC also organised a special performance by TVF for fans.

Mumbai Film and Comic Con 2014 saw over 15 exclusive book launches. The most awaited Priya Shakti by Ram Devineni got launched at the Convention. Holy Cow Entertainment launched Aghori Issue 12 whereas Campfire launched Kaurava Empire II & Ganesha: The Wonder Years. Cartoon Network Remix Volumes 1 & 2 by Pepper Script, Train Of Thoughts – The Bridge by Crimzon Studios and The Caravan- Blood War Issue 2 by Yali Dreams were amongst the other interesting launches at the convention.

Merchandise was a great hit too. Awesome Anime & Manga Merch from Japanese Merchandiser IINE Toys, along with the best and most exclusive International merchandise such as Marvel Comics and KidRobot Toys was seen brought in from across the globe. Also, there was presence of some exclusive Indian merchandisers including Wacom, Chimp, Item Number, Sony DADC, Graphic Curry, F-Gali, Planet Superheroes, Lazy Ninja, Fukwas, Urban Viking, Something Sketchy, Bewakoof.com and lots more!

Comic Con India also chose Mumbai Film and Comics Convention as a perfect platform to announce their Year 2015 Event Calendar. Bangalore Comic Con (April 3-5), Hyderabad Comic Con (June 12-14), Delhi Comic Con (December 4-6) & Mumbai Film and Comics Convention (December 18-20).
