Mumbai: John Abraham will be singing a song in his upcoming next, Eros International & Firoz A Nadiadwala’s Welcome Back. While the actor-producer has no plans of turning singer and wasn’t keen to get behind the microphone, it was music director Anu Malik who convinced John to sing the song.
The song called “, Ithni sochti kaiko, banja meri baiko”, written by Nitin Raikar and composed by Anu Malik , is a situational song where John’s character tries to woo his lady love in Welcome Back.
Director Anees Bazmee says, “We wanted Shruti (Haasan) and John to sing a duet but Shruti, who is a trained singer with a beautiful voice, was in Dubai during the recording so we decided to go ahead with John, solo. John will shock the audience not only with his singing debut, but also with his over-the-top bhaigiri in the film”.
John Abraham says, “ I kept saying no but Anees insisted. I finally told him I’d sing only if he gave me time to rehearse and then take everyone’s opinion on the subject. But before he could do that, Anu Malik came and announced that I should leave it to him. So I did!”
