Sabbir Khan who launched Tiger Shroff & Kriti Sanon with Heropanti and other talents in Baaghi, was in search for a leading lady for India’s first dance action film. The filmmaker almost immediately found what he was looking when Nidhhi Agerwal came to audition for Munna Michael, which marks her big Bollywood debut.
After a nationwide talent hunt in search for the girl to be cast opposite Tiger Shroff, the makers finally zeroed in on Nidhhi, a leading model who hails from Bangalore.
Bangalore has always proved to be a lucky city for Bollywood, as 2 of the biggest female stars Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma, have also been discoveries from the metropolitan. Ironically, both of them have also been popular models before making their foray into films.
Sources reveal that Nidhhi who is a professional ballet dancer , was immediately signed from over 300 girls ,thanks to her screen presence and charisma, not to mention her acting talent and dancing skills.
Comments an industry source, ” The city of Bangalore has given Bollywood some of the biggest actresses and going by the early buzz , it could be third time lucky . Nidhhi has everything going for her and apart from a big launch pad , she is also rumored to have signed a three film deal with a leading production and distribution powerhouse.”
Says Sabbir Khan who is known to have a keen eye for talent , “A key characteristic of Dolly was that she needed to be a normal girl pretending to be super confident and that’s what I found in Nidhhi. She’s a normal young girl but puts on a armour of confidence when she has to deliver. I found that she could come across as the girl next door and be drop dead sexy when she wants to. And of course she’s a very good dancer
