Arshad Warsi, Padmavati, controversy

Actor Arshad Warsi attended ‘Balle Balle’ – a Punjabi wedding musical concert organized by Wizcraft on Thursday in Mumbai. While interacting with media, Arshad commenting on ongoing controversy around the release of ‘Padmavati’ stated that people of our country has lot of free time and that’s the problem.

Recently, The former royals of Jaipur have joined the opposition to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film, Padmavati, and earlier Shri Rajput Karni Sena threatened that they will oppose release of the film which stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh and is scheduled to release on December 1. ‘Pamavati’ is fictionalized account of Malik Muhammad Jayasi’s book ‘Padmavat’, so when asked Arshad to comment on controversy surrounding ‘Padmavati’, he said, “I think in our country people have lot of free time and that is the problem. People might have their own perspective and reasons but they should think that ‘Padmavati’ is not a reality. It’s a myth and fictionalized story of a writer so it has not truth to it. I feel people should look at the film only as an art form then it will be better”

Talking about super success of his recently released film ‘Golmaal Again’, Arshad said, “Earlier also we said that ‘Golmaal Again’ is gift to the audience from our side and if people watch the film then it would be return gift to our team so I think people of our country have given us bigger gift than what we expected”

Talking about his association with Wizcraft and musical event, Arshad said, “I know these people when I was not into acting. I have done so many shows and plays with them. I have choreographed for Bharat Dabholkar and Alyque Padamsee’s plays with them so I have long standing relationship with them. I am happy that they came up with concept like this and these kind of musical should take place more often”

Talking about his upcoming projects, Arshad said, “Now again, I will be working in lot of sequels. I will work in sequel of ‘Golmaal’, ‘Dhamaal’, ‘Ishqiya’, ‘Jolly LLB’ and ‘Munna Bhai’ series but my next film names is ‘Veer Pareira’. It’s a beautiful story and it will go floors from next month”

In ‘Balle Balle’ – a Punjabi Wedding Musical Concert was attended by Subhash Ghai, Rajkumar Hirani, Ronit Roy, Omung Kumar, Gauhar Khan, Ramesh Sippy and Kabir Bedi.
