Aditi Rao Hydari who was cast in an author-backed role in Bhoomi, Sanjay Dutt’s comeback vehicle , managed to hold her own in the thriller drama.
The actress who personifies aristocratic ebullience with finesse, proved her mettle as an actress as audiences and critics alike raved about her performance in the film. Said NDTV, “Aditi Rao Hydari slips into the skin of her character rather smoothly. She makes a fair fist of the assignment – in the early scenes as well as in the post-rape sequences.”
Said Financial Express , “Aditi Rao Hydari essays the victim’s role well and her performance will be well received by fans.
Said DNA, “Aditi shines in the scene where struggling with her secret on the wedding night and the one in which she asks her spineless fiancee to erase her phone number from her wall.”
Said India TV , “Aditi Rao Hydari had a substantial role in the film, which she portrayed in the best way possible. She got into the skin of Bhoomi. From her stuttered speech to tear-laden eyes, Aditi manages to bring a lump in your throat in some scenes.”
Says Subhash K Jha, “The film never lets the very beautiful Aditi Rao play the victim-card, even though she is violated, humiliated and vilified repeatedly. She stands tall and dignified. This could be because Aditi Rao in the film’s titular role is just so frigging ethereal.”
