With his penchant for taking on challenging roles and portraying them with great aplomb on screen, Rajkummar Rao’s fan base increased massively and female fans can’t stop gushing over his good looks and charm.

With his latest release, Bareilly Ki Barfi, the actor’s reel-life persona has won the hearts of many. He is secretly the crush of many girls, who in their wildest dreams, are planning to marry him.

Rajkummar’s twin act as Pritam and Vidrohi in his latest rom-com Bareilly Ki Barfi, has been getting him rave reviews and the versatile actor admits that over the weekend, he has received calls from several directors, producers and actors praising his performance as it’s a side of him they haven’t seen in reel life before.

“Good actors have always supported each other’s performances in a film and same happened in Bareilly Ki Barfi. We all supported each other throughout. Filmmaking is teamwork. Actors’ performances are meant to make the film and its characters that work in people’s hearts and I am very happy that people are resonating with Pritam Vidrohi but it wouldn’t have been possible without our wonderful team, Kriti, Ayushmann, Ashwiny, Nitesh sir, Juno Chopra, Junglee pictures & the whole team.”

On rumours about Ayushmann suggesting Rajkummar’s name to the makers of Bareilly Ki Barfi, he states, “Though I wasn’t aware of it but that’s very kind of him. I thank him for doing this because the love and appreciation I’m getting for Bareilly is overwhelming. I had a great time working with him and I hope he suggests my name for all his exciting films and I’ll also do the same. He is a dear friend and I love him a lot.”

The actor informs, “Many girls have also reached out to me on Twitter, Instagram & FB telling me I’m “sweet” and some are even asking me to marry them.”

On his fascination for a subject like Bareilly, he says, “Bareilly was the world Ashwiny (Iyer Tiwari, director) created. I was curious to find out if the dual personalities in one character concept would work. It was a difficult part to play and there was a very thin line. I was trying to be careful not to go over-the top and to keep Pritam and Vidrohi believable and relatable.”

The movie turned out to be a memorable experience for Rajkummar as he got the opportunity to showcase his dancing skills. “I started my stage career by dancing in school, but later fell in love with acting so dance and martial arts took a back seat. Strangely, I haven’t had much scope to show off my dancing skills before, except for one time in Dolly Ki Doli with Malaika Arora. In this film, I really let go and enjoyed it thoroughly as that was the whole point of our song.
