With his penchant for taking on challenging roles and portraying them with great aplomb on screen, Rajkummar Rao has made it to the list of GQ’s Most Influential Young Indians 2017 – Artistes category.

Along with the versatile actor , the other prominent names featured in the list of Most Influential Young Indians are featuring Prabhas(Actor), Ranveer Singh (Actor), PV Sindhu(Badminton player),Ritesh Agerwal (Founder & CEO of OYO Rooms) and Neeraj Chopra(Track and Field Athlete).

The versatile actor’s unconventional choice of films and roles sets him apart from the other actors, be it Ragini MMS, Kai Po Che, Love Sex Aur Dhoka, Gangs of Wasseypur, Shahid, Queen, CityLights and Aligarh among others.

With two different genre films including Trapped and Behen Hogi Teri released this year, Rajkummar has floored both audience and industry alike, with them raving about his splendid performance and for taking the road less travelled.

While praising Rajkummar, GQ editorial team had mentioned, “If you thought he’s one of those actors who prefer the odd, cerebral, once-a-year film, consider this: In 2017, Rao’s on screen at least eight times. He’s already swung off a 35th-storey ledge for Vikramaditya Motwane’s Trapped; played a 324-year-old man in Raabta; and transformed into the small-town boy-next-door in Behen Hogi Teri. You’ll see him next as an earnest civil servant in Amit Masurkar’s Newton (for which he received a standing ovation at the 67th Berlin Film Festival); romancing Nargis Fakhri and Freida Pinto in a couple American productions; and starring in Hansal Mehta’s ominous-sounding Omerta. Yet, Rao says, he’s most excited about a web series on the life of Subhas Chandra Bose for ALTBalaji. Is there a method to the maverick’s madness?
Says Rajkummar, “I just want to reach a point where people watch a film because it’s got Rajkummar Rao on the billing.
