Carbon: The Story of Tomorrow, Jackky Bhagnani, Dada Saheb Phalke Award

Actor Jackky Bhagnani who recently produced and featured in the Hindi science-fiction short film ‘Carbon: The Story of Tomorrow’ based on global warming went on to win the Best Actor Award at the recently held 8th Dada Saheb Phalke Festival 2018.

‘Carbon: The Story of Tomorrow’ which has been critically lauded for its hard-hitting plot and stellar performances by the lead cast deals with the hazards caused due to the pollution of the environment. Jackky finds a voice through the film which takes on the big issue of pollution and gets the audience to introspect on their actions towards the environment.

Says Jackky, “This award is really special to me and the entire team of ‘Carbon: The Story of Tomorrow’. It feels great to see a socially relevant film getting the recognition it deserves. I’m extremely elated to receive this honour.”

Incidentally, actors including Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone among others too were awarded the prestigious award in various other categories.

Set in 2067, ‘Carbon: The Story of Tomorrow’ focuses on the prevailing environmental issues and showcases the scarcity of oxygen and water and its adverse effects on the environment. The film comprises of Jackky Bhagnani, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Prachi Desai in lead roles.
