After it was announced earlier this week that Abhishek Bachchan will no longer be a part of JP Dutta’s ‘Paltan,’ the makers have now confirmed that actor Harshvardhan Rane will replace Abhishek in the war drama.

A source close to the film revealed, “While Abhishek was initially cast in JP Dutta’s ‘Paltan’, he will no longer be part of the film. He has now been replaced by Harshvardhan Rane, who also has a massive fan following despite being just a film old in Bollywood.”

He also added, “The makers were looking for a tall actor who not only had a great screen presence but was also physically fit. The role is as challenging as it is physically demanding and after Abhishek, Harshvardhan Rane was the perfect fit. In fact, JP Dutta was blown away by Harsh in the very first meeting and immediately knew he had found the actor he was looking for.”

Praising Harshvardhan’s strong screen presence, he added, “Harsh is undoubtedly one of the best-looking actors around with an enviable physique that has taken years of hard work to build. After his Bollywood debut ‘Sanam Teri Kasam,’ the actor became an overnight sensation among female fans thanks to his intense looks and striking screen presence. Harshvardhan is definitely an actor to watch out for, especially since he will now be rubbing shoulders with industry stalwarts in the war drama”

Nidhi Dutta of JP Films says, “Yes, we have signed Harshvardhan Rane for ‘Paltan’ but it’s too early to divulge anything about the movie or his role.” JP Dutta’s ‘Paltan’ is scheduled for a summer 2018 release.

Abhishek made debut in Bollywood with JP Dutta’s Refugee and he again worked with him in Umrao Jaan along with Aishwarya Rai.
